SoapJoy! is a small, woman-owned business based in San Diego and Pasadena, California.  The owner, Joy, has long been interested in the “practical arts” and her interest in handcrafted soaps has spanned much of the last decade.  After years of thinking about how amazing handcrafted soaps are, and because she desperately needed something to distract her from writing her dissertation in higher education, Joy finally took the plunge  and started making her own soap.  That was it!  She fell in love (some might say became OBSESSED!) with soaps and all things soap-related. 

Family and friends have benefited from Joy’s soap obsession by receiving boxes filled with different kinds of soaps in the mail as gifts and for special occasions.  To ensure a continuing supply of free soap, these same family and friends encouraged her to move forward and open her own soap business.  The result is SoapJoy!, a company that combines Joy’s desire for functional artisan craftsmanship with her ongoing commitment to help make the world a better and cleaner place, one bar of soap at a time.

Simply put, it's the highest quality soap you'll ever use. Commercial soaps (aka synthetic detergents) have had the natural glycerin removed and detergent and other additives added for cleansing.  Commercial soaps are drying and often leave your skin feeling  itchy and tight.  Not so with handcrafted soaps.  SoapJoy!’s gently handcrafted soaps are made with care using the highest quality ingredients.  After the first use, you will notice the difference!  Our customers return to buy more once they've sampled their first bar of SoapJoy!’s Handcrafted Artisan Soap because they love the luxurious feel of SoapJoy! soap.  

All SoapJoy! soaps are handmade in small batches from scratch using both the cold- and hot-process methods of soapmaking.  SoapJoy! offers two lines of soap:  Milk Soaps and Vegan-Friendly Soaps.  SoapJoy's Vegan-Friendly are made with the highest quality plant oils and butters, including olive oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernal oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, and macadamia butter,  NO ANIMAL BY-PRODUCTS are used in the vegan-friendly soap.  The Milk Soaps are formulated with goat milk and lard, two ingredients that result in a deliciously smooth, silky, luxurious, and hard bar of soap, and also include the plant oils and butters that are used in the Vegan-Friendly soaps.  Both lines of SoapJoy! soaps are scented with essential oils and fragrance oils, and botanicals, herbs, and clays may also be added  to each batch of soap.

SoapJoy! soaps are lovingly handcrafted in Pasadena and San Diego, California.  Because SoapJoy! soaps are handmade in small batches and are handcut, no two are exactly alike. To ensure that your handcrafted soap will last longer, please  let the bar dry between uses by using a soap dish that allows the excess water to drain away from the soap.
